Ik heb juist dit artikel gelezen over onze minister van defensie. Voor mij kan ik heel dit incident als volgt samenvatten:
Meneer De Crem gaat ons belastinggeld lekker verprutsen in New York met zijn vriendjes en gaat daarbij zijn boekje te buiten. De barvrouw die toevallig ook blogt vond dit terecht niet kunnen en schrijf hier uiteraard een stukje over. De woordvoerder van De Crem belt met de haar baas en de volgende dag is ze ontslagen. Vervolgens proberen ze een doofpot-actie, want dit alles heeft zogezegd niet plaatsgevonden. Als dat niet lukt wordt alles maar toegegeven (want “och kijk eens hoe eerlijk ik ben” ?) en zijn blogs ineens gevaarlijk! Juist ja, want daar mag men inderdaad schrijven en zeggen wat men wil omdat wij hier niet in China leven…
Doe zo voort zou ik zeggen. Dan kan u binnenkort misschien oproepen om oorlogje te gaan spelen ergens in het Midden-Oosten. Tot alles plat ligt en u nog steeds niet wilt toegeven dat u het mis had, want daar zijn uw Amerikaanse vrienden specialist in. Behalve als er over geblogd wordt natuurlijk, want dat is gevaarlijk! 
Nogal kort door de bocht. Een cafébaas moet de verhalen van zijn klanten niet aan de grote klok hangen, zijn personeel ook niet. Had ik haar baas geweest, ze had ook buiten gelegen.
Ik weet niet meer wie het schreef (op een blog), maar het was iets als “freedom of speech is niet hetzelfde als freedom of consequence”, en daar zie ik veel waarheid in.
